The Thila is 70 meters in length and rises to a depth of 13 meters beneath the surface. The most prominent feature of this coral base is the immense canyon splitting the reef in two, and hence the name Broken Rock.

Fish life at Broken Rock is abundant and the walls are covered with lots of soft coral in blues and yellows and greens. Triggerfish, Anthias, jacks, angel, butterflyfish, pufferfish, morays and napoleon wrasse are commonly found. There is also the possibility of spotting guests to Broken Rock such as grey reef sharks, barracuda and sea turtles.

Scuba diving at Broken Rock is straight forward with several ways to approach it. Currents can be strong at times and one can utilise this by diving from a distance swim into the reef with the current. A weaker current will allow for a dive directly on top of the reef.
