Dive Site Description of Fushi Kandu

Fushi Kandu is an amazing dive site in a 1 kilometer wide channel between Maavaru Falhu and Maadhiggaru Falhu. This channel contains 5 wonderful separate thilas, all of which can be explored. The thilas are about 25 meters tall and are quite narrow and long. Outside the reefs edge the seabed drops from 30 meters onwards. Nearby islands include Alimatha and Kuredu which are both around 25 minutes away.

Fushi Kandu features caves and overhangs and also has some remarkable coral blocks on the on the east side of the channel but the main attraction would be its sea life. There is a variety of sharks, including white tip, nurse, grey reef and silver tip, as well as stingrays eagle rays, sea turtles and moray eels.

The channel at Fushi Kandu should be dived on with an incoming current as this makes it possible to cross from one side to the other. This channel crossing is also considered to be suitable for more advanced divers
